It's getting better and better

So, my weekend was great and the beggining of my week is even better than the last one! So here are my stories: On Friday I got late at school because I had to do a physical test to play basketball (indiana's state laws). Then I arrived at school in the middle of the gym class. Later in that day Mo had swimming so I had to wait while he was swimming because after swimming we were going to Logan's house. When we were on our way I discovered that Logan's dad have a pizzeria, and that we were going there! My reaction -> \o/ (hell yeah, I have a friend that can give me free pizza, envy me!). So the pizza was awesome, but it was a little too spicy for me... And then we went to Logan's house, what a gorgeous house. We had fun there playing call of duty MW3, watching tv, and browsing in the web, we also played chess and checkers(I won every game, even against Logan's dad... Americans really don't like logic games that much). On the other day we had to leave before lunch because we had to go to mason's basketball game, he did better in this one. Then we went home, I helped mo with his homework and we cleaned our room too. Then Rachel came over and we started talking and playing some Xbox dancing games. It was cool. On sunday we went to the Terra Houte's mall and I both two awesome shoes, pics in Facebook later, and some clothes. Later we got home and Bryan stared cooking some good stakes, because papa and nana(mom's parents) were coming, awesome dinner. So it was Monday morning and as ever I didn't wanted to get up... School was boring but I decided to make of this week my "pic week", I'm going to take pictures with and of all my friends and of my school, so this made my day... I had to wait till 6 o'clock to practice but it was totally worth it. The coach and the teammates liked me and I liked the practice so it was awesome. Later there were the swimming senior night, so all the swimmers that we're on their last year at high school made a party and was really cool: free pizza and cake \o/. I shouldn't be there but I was invited by almost all the people that make part of the swimming team so I went to it. When we got home I went straight to the shower and then for bed, I was really tired. Today school was ok and I Was really excited about the practice but it was cancelled due to a problem in the water pipe( my action -> D= ), but we got home earlier and that good too. So now I'm blogging and later I'll post pictures on Facebook about my life here. So, see ya later.

First normal week

So I'm in my first normal week here and I've already been invited to come back after I leave... Yes it's a cool love story(me and my family) I'm really getting along with all my brothers and with almost all my classmates. So on Monday I met almost all my friends so I'm going to talk a little more about my days. So, my schedule is the same every day, I'm a freshman (I shouldn't be one although because I've already finished the first year of high school but I'm one because of mt brother mo) and I have classes from 8:15 to 3:25. In the first period I have biology, kind of boring class because it's the same thing I've learned in brazil. In the second period I have geography and it's kind of an interesting class because there we are studying Europe and I like it. In the third period we have gym class, that's the good part of the day, we are playing basketball right now and I'm one of the best of the class (wow). In the fourth period we have geometry, very boring I already know everything so I just spend time like being a second teacher and helping the others. Then we havelunch, we have to kind of run to get a good spot in the lunch line, it's funny although... In the fifth period we have English, well they are doing a research project about national parks, so I just help mo with his research. In the sixth period we have the interpersonal relationship class, I call it the "feelings class" because we just talk and make some stuff about some (stupid) things and it always ends up on these feelings stuff, I don't pay much attention to these class... And at our seventh and last period we have Spanish. It's the only class thati actually do something, we are learning things about the parental relationships and about the parts of e house. Today I nailed the test (hell yeah I'm good) about the family. Then after school mo goes to the swimming practice and I go to the basketball practice(I'm starting tomorrow). Then we go home and just do the homework and then just hang out or something. Today after school me and mason made a snowball fight. Ow yeahh was forgetting about it... Today was the first time I saw snow, it wasn't old at all but after I did a snowball and threw it at a three my hands were fukin' freezing!!! Im kind of getting used to this cold weather, today at our snowball fight I was wearing just my t-shirt, my Nike hoodie, a pair of jeans, sneakers, socks, a pair of winter gloves and that's it. I like cold, okay loggin off now, we have a math test tomorrow so I'm going to help mo to study. See ya later

Arrival and first days

Well, now It is for real. Our trip was fine, the food wasn't that bad and I slept most of the time so it was like a normal one. The only real problem was that we had to delay our flight from Atlanta to Indianapolis because I almost lost my backpack and Priscila got the wrong suitcase, but in the end everything was fine. Then, at the indianapolis airport we had some trouble to find Jahni but after some calls we did it. Then we went to her house and ate some pizza and after that we discussed some of the things we are going to do here like our trip to Chicago and our trip to the Super Bowl village, gosh it'll be amazing!!! Then we finally met our families, it's was really good to meet them and give'em a hug. Clinton is a little bit far from Indianapolis so we talked a lot in our way to home. We stopped twice during our little trip, the first time we stopped at Starbucks and got an ice tea for the trip and in the second time we stopped at burger king because Mo(Montgomery's nickname) and I had to pee, and Bryan got a hamburger too. When we got home I realized that the photo that I've seen on google maps was kind of old, the house is actually blue... When we got home I took a quick shower and then we went to a highs hook basketball game, we lost but I met some of Mo's friends and some other family members like granpa. It was cool but I was really tired from our long trip so I was like talking and meeting people. Saturday we woke up around 10 and went to granpa's. There I had my very first American breakfast: pancakes with syrup. Then me, mo and mason were really borked so we started playing monopoly, mason won(that lucky bastard). Then we went to mason's basketball game, they lost but this doesn't matter, he had fun and he did some baskets too. Then we went to Friday's for lunch, I had a new York cheese & bacon hamburger, it was really good. Then we went to the mall and mo showed me some cool shops too. Later on that day we went to the Serbian Christmas, it's a strange party where they cooked a pig and got some food and drinks to celebrate something I don't really understand. There were some friends there and we had a good time. Today(Sunday) we got up around 10 o'clock and then went shopping(me, mo, mom, Madie and her friend Alex). First we went to Macy's department store and then we went to the mall, I bought some cool t-shirts and hoodies, I got a flannel, some socks and one pair of shorts. I got some good discounts. Then we got home and they threw a party for me(it was all planned, I just didn't mentioned it before) and more friends came over, at first it was a bit boring but then, when almost everyone had gone we had the crazy idea of making a snowman of fruits and going outside(it isn't too cold, it's like 7 Celsius degrees) to threw him away, it was VERY funny. Right now I'm finishing to blog this(I started yesterday) and Mo is sleeping. Tomorrow is my first school day so i'm going to sleep.

Apresentação

  Olá, meu nome é Gabriel e eu sou um jovem embaixador 2012.
  Tudo começou quando o Vitor Finger e o Matheus Osório se tornaram jovens embaixadores em 2011. Depois da viagem eles me falaram sobre o programa e sobre os Companheiros e então me perguntei: "Porque não tentar?"
  Aí eu me inscrivi para a pré-seleção e depois que fui aprovado participei da seleção. A seleção foi muito legal, um fim de semana cheio de atividades, testes e dinâmicas em grupo; lá eu conheci um monte de gente legal e alguns destes se tornaram os outros JE, ou seja, meus colegas de equipe.
  Logo que as atividades e as tarefas começaram eu percebi que ser um jovem embaixador não era tão simples quanto parecia, elas demandam grande esforço e aplicação de cada JE, seja para a realização de tarefas em grupo em individuais. Bom eu ainda estou no meio desse processo todo e as coisas também estão mais complicadas agora no ensino médio e isso resulta em falta de tempo, portanto a minha próxima postagem será quando estivermos mais próximos da viagem, que ocorrerá no dia 5 de janeiro.

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I'm and Youth Ambassador 2012.
Everything started when Vitor Finger and Matheus Osório, who are my friends, became Youth Ambassadors in 2011. After their trip they told about the program and about Partners and I asked myself: "Why not try?"
Then I applied to the pre selection, I was approved and then I participated in the selection. It was really cool, a whole weekend with a lot of tests, group dynamics and other stuff. There I met a lot of cool people  and 5 of them became my teammates.
As soon as the activities begun i realized that been an youth ambassador isn't a simple task. All the activities and duties that we have to do demand great effort and dedication, for individual and group activities. Well I'm still in the middle of this whole process and things are also more complicated now that I'm in high school and this results in lack of time, so I'll post again when Iwe are closer to the date of the trip, that will happen in january 5th.
